# DISPLAYFORMAT_HDR

Display format for high dynamic range data, using 16bit floating point values.
Note: This is supported on WebGPU platform only, and ignored on other platforms. On displays
without HDR support, it silently falls back to [DISPLAYFORMAT_LDR](https://api.playcanvas.com/engine/variables/DISPLAYFORMAT_LDR.md). Use
[GraphicsDevice.isHdr](https://api.playcanvas.com/engine/classes/GraphicsDevice.md#ishdr) to see if the HDR format is used. When it is, it's recommended to
use [TONEMAP_NONE](https://api.playcanvas.com/engine/variables/TONEMAP_NONE.md) for the tonemapping mode, to avoid it clipping the high dynamic range.

```ts
const DISPLAYFORMAT_HDR: "hdr" = 'hdr'
```
